Sit on a chair or preferably a stool, the idea is to keep your back straight and in an active position, now if you are a right handed person (most people are) then hold the guitar in such a position that the waist of the guitar sets on your right leg thigh and you have a good hold on the body of the guitar, now your left hand will press the strings on the fret board while your right hand will ring the strings.
Look at the image to gave you a better idea. check out this video...
So now
you know about all the main parts of an acoustic guitar, the second thing you
should know about guitar are the strings.
There are normally
6 strings in a guitar, E A D G B E ,
You can
learn it like this,
Elephants And Dogs Grow Big Ears.
as you can
see. Starting from the thickest one I will try to tell you all about the strings.
1.E string: the one on the extream left is the
low pitch E string.
2.A string: the very next string on the right
of the thickest E string is A string.
3.D string: the very next string on the right
of A string is D string.
4.G string: the very next string on the right
of D string is G string.
5.B string: the very next string on the right
of G, and of cource second last looking at the pattern is B string.
6.E string: don’t get confused, this is the thinnest
string on the extreme right hand side. It is also called E string, but has the highest
pitch. check out this video to give you a better idea,
I think you know about all the strings now.
Now about the pick. look at this video, it explains all you need to know about the pick.
In this
topic I will tell you all about your guitar, let’s start,Assuming

at this image carefully and memorize all the terms as they are mostly used.
I would like to explain Few main parts of the guitar,
1. Head stock: Also known as head is the tip of
the guitar which has 6 turning keys to which your strings are tied to.
2.Turning keys:Aluminum or metal keys fixed on the
head that work on a screw rotating principle, they are used to tune the string
of a guitar, and make them sound as we would like them to. The standard is that
rotating the key clockwise makes the strings tighter and rotating it
anti-clockwise loosens them. (NOTE: tightening up a string too much can result
in breaking the string, and if you are not playing your guitar for more than 2
weeks, please loosen up the string, otherwise we all know metal contracts when
cooled, this scientific law applies to strings of a guitar to, and people
damage their guitars due to this mistake.)
3.Fret board: The main part to play a guitar is
fret board; this is kind of a music mixer, where you blend in different notes
and chords to get melodic sounds. This is the long area in-between the body and
the head, and it has strings running from the head all the way down to the
body.
4.Frets: the small partitions you see on the
fret board. the one closest to the head is 1st fret, the next one is the 2nd fret and then 3rd, 4th and so on. normally guitars have 12 frets, but they can have more.
this video should help you understand the parts of the guitar
Well these
are a few things you need to know to get started.
First I will
tell you the list of things you would need to go through this crash course.
1.A
guitar (obviously… :p)
2.A
tuner (an instrument used for tuning the guitar)
3.A
computer and a net connection (which you already have if you reading this)
Now, I won’t
recommend you buying an expensive guitar right now as you are a beginner, you
can buy one but you can end up breaking a chord that can cost you around 3 to 4
dollars, I would recommend you to buy a beginner guitar for around max. 30
dollars, not more than that, just make sure it sounds good, check that the
chords are soft, not very hard. They should not be too much lifted up. The
strings should be close to the guitar, and well spaced so your fingers could
fit in easily, check for any sorts of cracks or anything. Well I guess that’s all
you need to get a good guitar that should get you rolling through. The second
thing I mentioned was a tuner, you can get a guitar tuner form any music store,
and it will cost you 20 dollars. It is an instrument that has a clip and a main
piece, you attach the clip to the tip of your guitar, and then ring a chord and
you get a reading on the tuner, I will tell you the working of the tuner in
detail later on.
(NOTE: if
you don’t want to buy a tuner right now its okay! Theres a way around this but that’s
not very accurate. You need a microphone for that. Attach a microphone to your
computer go to http://www.proguitartuner.com/guitar-tuner/and get your guitar tuned.
But that’s just for training, for best results
you need to buy a tuner.)
Well
I guess that will be all you need to get started. J
Guitar is a musical instrument usually played by plucking strings with fingers or a pick. You can easily learn to play guitar and have fun with your friends and other people around you at collage, parks, parties, and other gatherings. Guitar actually adds up a boost to your impression in front of other people, it is a very melodic but hard instrument to play compared to a piano or something like that, O and yes! You are right; girls love guys who play guitar, so if you want to put a lasting impression on a girl, and want her to notice you out of 100 people at a party you are at the right place. But that defiantly doesn’t mean that you go up to a girl play some tune and DAHHH! You have her!, there is much more to it. I’m just saying that if you can play good guitar, you defiantly are the life of a party. People will notice you, more or less but you will get fans. But readers do understand that guitar is a slow thing to learn. If you think you can just sit down read my posts all the way up to the end and come out with a party rocking magic in your hand, you are seriously mistaken my friend. You have to practice a lot, everyday you have to spend at least half an hour with your guitar and if you follow my instructions correctly, I can guarantee you can be a guitarist by the end of 42 days starting now. Call it a guitar crash course or whatever, but friends if you follow me correctly,
Here are some stages you will pass by:
Week 1: you will be able to play all sorts of notes.
Week 2: you will be able to do strumming.
Week 3: you will learn some more use-full strumming tools.
Week 4: you will be strumming well.
Week 5: learn some blues and base of music rhythm.
Week 6: you now stand a good guitarist; you will be able to play all sorts and styles of music.
